A Love of Wisdom
What does it mean to be wise? How do we know what is real? Can something change and still remain itself? What happens when a question has no answer?
A Love of Wisdom is an activity- and discussion-based philosophy course that introduces students to some of humanity's most enduring thought experiments, paradoxes, and philosophical stories. Through conversation, games, storytelling, artistic expression, and collaborative inquiry, students will explore questions about reality, identity, knowledge, ethics, and perspective.
Each class follows a simple rhythm: encounter a philosophical story or puzzle, explore it through discussion and activities, and then create a new Main Lesson Book page. A Main Lesson Book page is part notebook, part artwork, and part personal record of a student's thinking. By the end of the course, each student will have a small book filled with pages that show how they experienced and made sense of the ideas they explored—not just what they were told.
Topics include major philosophical concepts and thought experiments.
